Windmill Farm - Dining & Carvery

Restaurant | Lincoln | Angleterre | Royaume Uni

Cuisine britannique traditionnelle pub

The food is ok we did want to try the carvery but the que was a serious health & safety risk there is no organisation at all with a very simple solution to resolve the problem. But the staff don’t seem bothered

Went with a friend for their birthday and had the gammon, was very nice and portion size was good, cannot complain, I had the extra gammon and no dessert but that was my preference though the desserts did look good.

It's nice but far too big and busy, we went on a Sunday and the queue for a carvery was so long we decided not to bother

We visited today for lunch as a group of five. Was served by Mollie B and Lauren S. what absolute beautiful souls. I have very strict dietry requiremens and Mollie went out of her way to accomidate them for me. The venue is pristenely clean and well maintained, with tables being clear quickly and cleaned. Plates were taken away promptly and service was above and beyond. The food. i had the Mixed Grill with quite a few alterations. The food arrived prompty and wes piping hot and you get loads for your money, prices are right where you'd expect them to be, very good value for money. the rest of the group had Chicken burgers and another 2 mixed grills. Desserts. looking though the dessert menu my 13 yr old son saw that they had a Giant Eclair. and a few others wanted ice cream, well the son stayed at the table whilst i went to order dessert and when i saw the size of the giant eclair i did giggle, it is mamoth, honestly gigantic, to the point he was shocked. he took two bites and gave in. luckily Mollie gave me a box to bring it home with us. all in all we all have a fantastic time, the food was fantastic the staff were even better. will 100% be back really soon. although if i can give anyone a bit of advise. they only except tips in cash so please take a little with you as these guys and gals need to be apprrecciated, i did in fact ask Mollie and Lauren for a list of who was on shift so i could thank the personally (I know cringe right. but i dont care they deserve it) so a MASSIVE thank you to Mollie B Lauren S Jade Diane Becky Scott Lukas David Chelsea H Jo Dre Shaun B You guys smashed it, see you soon.

It was good, but for our taste we would have preferred everything cooked for a couple more minutes just to make it all a little crisper. We had the fish and chips, chip shop platter and a side of onion rings. It was very good value for money though and we would go back.

Had the carvery. Food wasn't properly hot, veg was overcooked (like mush) and we were seated on a table right next to the door, so every time someone came in there was a freezing cold draft. Not great!

For me this is a very enjoyable place to go and eat, they’re literally once more negative is if you go for the Sunday carvery and it’s not dinner time or lunchtime then yes items may dry out which is completely understandable under a heater but other than that the food is well priced, always tastes nice, the staff have always been friendly and more than helpful through the years and there is plenty of choice and options for all when it comes to selection and their desserts are absolutely huge, I must if you want something as a midweek treat but don’t want to spend too much

We were greeted by a friendly female who I assume was the duty manager perhaps on entering the pub. We were shown straight to a table which I thought was great service. No waiting like you do in some restaurants. We went to the bar to buy drinks & pay for the carveries, we met a rude young man who wasn’t the friendliest of characters at all. He had zero customer service skills, not friendly or helpful - just disinterested. Afterwards we went up to the carvery deck, my father in law didn’t hear what the carver said to him, so I let my father in law know & made a joke about selective hearing to the carver. The carver then came to serving me, and was completely ignorant & didn’t speak to me at all, Which I found quite disheartening. What had I done to warrant such behaviour? The food was ok, although the mash tasted like smash, carrots were soggy & meat wasn’t the best quality. We decided to have a pudding afterwards though, chocolate brownies with either vanilla flavour ice cream/cream or custard. Why isn’t that dairy ice cream, if you’re paying £5.50 for it. I didn’t have any ice cream or sides with my dessert. Long story short, the brownie was nice, but it wasn’t a brownie at all. It was a chocolate sponge with chocolate fudge sauce over the top of it. You get a huge portion so that’s a plus, but it isn’t a brownie. Be careful if you can’t have sponge with the brownie!! The last thing I wanted to mention was regarding the female who was showing people to tables, if you are going to complain about customers or have a go at staff, please do it a little more quietly. It is very unprofessional to do it so everyone could hear.

Usually a good breakfast here. But unfortunately a massive failure today. Eggs were slimes and barely cooked, black pudding Rock hard, hash browns burned, bacon cooked but not well enough to render the fat properly, sausages, one was overcooked and the other looked like it's pale poorly sibling. Had to go back to the bar to get more fruit juice, but only one very slow staff member with lots of waiting customers, so cut my losses and went home and got a drink there. Very disappointing for a place that once did a very good breakfast.

Absolutely perfect. Greeted at door and ask to pick a seat. Paid for brekkie and was provided with plate and cup and helped ourselves to food. Food was fresh (fresh mushrooms and tomatoes which I love) and everything was hot! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Lauren was extremely helpful :)
